Matthew Heyer – President

Matthew is a senior architect in AT&T’s Cheif Data Office, he leads multiple concurrent efforts to design, develop and implement platforms and applications that enable users to assess their application’s continuity and recovery capabilities as well as many other technologies that impact Technology Development and Technology Operations customers. Born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras to Christian Missionary parents, Matthew has a unique world view which has been shaped by the cultures he has lived in and places he has traveled to in Central America and Europe. The United States military’s presence has always brought safety and security to very dangerous areas around the World and Matthew saw that first hand in Central America. He has also volunteered with the Women of AT&T EG. Matthew was instrumental in converting the new AT&T Veterans AZ Chapter website attveterans.org outside the firewall.

Jared Alvey – VP of Veteran Outreach

AT&T Sr Cybersecurity Consultant – Mid Markets

USAF / WA ANG 194 WG/ IG – Dir of Inspection

Jared Alvey was a military brat who grew up in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs. Jared is now a cybersecurity professional with over fourteen years of experience primarily supporting the Department of Defense. His professional career began with an opportunity to support the Army at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Salerno, Afghanistan as a govt contractor. Since then, he has supported a range of military operations from four-star commands at NORAD/USNORTHCOM, to operation floors at Space Based Infra-Red System (SBIRS), and the Program office for Integrated Tactical Warning and Assessment (ITW/AA).

Jared has been in the Air National Guard (ANG) for the last twelve years. He initially joined the CO ANG as an enlisted cyber surety specialist (3d0x3) in a base comm flight. After six years he joined the WA ANG as a member of a Cyber Protection Team providing Defensive Cyber Operations, where he also had the opportunity to commission as a (17S). Since then he was selected as the Wing IG Director of Inspections.  

Jared has several hobbies and passions. He enjoys giving back to others. He recently joined a volunteer law enforcement group in Arizona to augment law enforcement throughout the state. His time with the military and this volunteer law enforcement (LEO) community has reminded him how important mental health and awareness are. He is always looking for ways to further serve the community as a whole and especially provide the support that are unique to the veteran and LEO members.

Amos Chalmers – VP Member Services

Senior Solution Architect- FirstNet AT&T

Within the AT&T FirstNet organization, Amos Chalmers is responsible for working with FirstNet stakeholders and Solution Consultant teams in the United States and the Pacific Territories. His special focus areas include LMR-LTE interoperability, mobile data communications, deployable technology & mobile security.

Prior to joining the FirstNet AT&T team in 2017, Amos spent 20 years working in public safety technology for the Phoenix Fire Department and retired as the Deputy Chief over their regional dispatch and deployment organization. Since joining AT&T much of his work focuses on delivering prioritized wireless solutions for critical voice and data communication needs including mobile VPNs, LMR-LTE interoperability fleet management, and workforce management.

Amos holds a Master of Science degree from the W.P. Carey School of Business at ASU in Business Analytics as well as a Masters of Art in Applied Leadership and Management.  He has been a speaker at events including IWCE, FDIC, FRI, IACP, and APCO. He lives in Phoenix with his son and daughter.

 

 

 

Kelsie Hughes – Treasurer

Kelsie currently works as Senior Solutin Architect specializing in process architecture and WordPress development. She recently served as the Chief Marketing Officer for AT&T Veterans National. Kelsie is a patroit who loves her country the flag and most importantly the men and women who so proudly serve this nation. Her goals for this chapter include a Healing Through Art and Expression Program and the continued success of the Veterans Day Charity 3 Miler.
