AT&T External Affairs and AT&T Veterans PNW chapter provided contributions to the USO Northwest in order to purchase supplies for care packages destined for local area soldiers currently deployed. On June 15th, AT&T hosted the event at their Redmond office and dozens of AT&T employees and USO Board members participated to help pack 250 backpacks with supplies.
AT&T Veterans PNW celebrated ROTC cadets at several local universities by awarding them the AT&T Veterans National Leadership award. This award is in recognition of our AT&T Veterans Employee Group ROTC students who have excelled in our “Act Boldly” cultural pillar – using curiosity and courage to raise the bar, taking smart risks, questioning convention, challenging and being challenged. Members of the AT&T Veterans chapter, attended the awards ceremonies at the University of Washington, Seattle University, and Oregon State University and presented the awards to the cadets on behalf of the chapter.
I was fortunate enough to present at Seattle University on behalf of AT&T and our Veterans Community. I have to say how personally rewarding it was, having grown up a few blocks away from the University as a young inner-city kid. The Seattle University program was exceptional in their hospitality and enthusiasm for each other. They have a very strong ROTC program. I look forward to future opportunities like this as it was very rewarding.
