Presidents' Day

Presidents’ Day is a coming up on Monday February 21st. It was established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. We celebrate all U.S. presidents, past and present. One of our most notable and highest-ranking military generals to serve as U.S. President is Dwight D. Eisenhower. President Eisenhower was a 5-star general in the Army. As a native Texan, Eisenhower graduated from West Point in 1915 and worked his way up through the ranks of the U.S. Army during both World Wars. During his presidency, he created policy around the use of nuclear weapons and helped stimy the invasion of Egypt by forcing the British, French, and Israelis to withdraw. Finally, he established NASA and is paramount to the great progress the U.S. makes in the exploration of space. The next time you and your family take a cross country road trip to the beach or to visit relatives, thank Eisenhower because he created the program to develop the Interstate Highway System.
We wish you and yours a wonderful Presidents' Day on your day off! Stay tuned for upcoming events by checking out our website linked below.
